Explanation of Child Certificate:
The Child Certificate has a background image of characters from Chouju Giga.
Chouju Giga is a Japanese national treasure on 4 scrolls of Frolicking Animals and Figures, preserved by the Kouzan-ji temple in Kyoto, but occasionally on display in the national museums at Tokyo and Kyoto.
Chouju Giga is often credited as being the oldest work of manga in Japan, and many Japanese animation (“anime”) creators believe that it is the origin of animated movies.
The elements which characterize Chouju Giga, such as simple line drawing, humor, and personification of animals, are also recognizable characteristics in a wide range of Japanese design culture and history.
